Tar files are compressed, raw payloads for the app, usually useful for people creating packages for their distros. They are not ready-to-install bundles for your distro unless you’re an expert user. You might want to ask somebody in the Manjaro community to package Aether for Manjaro, which might make it easier to install for you.
